Hao YANG dancer
Born in Chongqing, China, YANG Hao enrolled in the song and dance art school in Beijing in 1998. After graduation, he joined the Chinese opera and dance theatre, and Guangzhou song and dance troupe. From 2005 to 2007, he was a dancer for the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, touring the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark and Hong Kong with the company. From 2007 to 2009, Yang received a full scholarship from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) to study for his Bachelor's degree. After two years of studying in HKAPA, he joined the Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Company as a full time dancer. He has taught in the Ivy Chung Ballet School, where he also works as an independent dancer/choreographer. He has received funding from the Culture Partnership Initiative (CPI) of Korea, and joined the Dance Exchange 2013 programme under the Seoul International Dance (SIDance) Festival (SIDance.Yang’s choreographic works include Autorun, Encounter and Rush.
